Main Tasks

Installation of a underground pipeline.

Summary

The Sydney Desalination Pipeline provided Diona with the opportunity to deliver a complex, high risk project for Sydney Water. It was a challenging pipelaying project and one of the more difficult jobs Diona has undertaken.

Diona’s tender submission clearly demonstrated a thorough understanding of the demands and standard which the client would request during the project. Diona’s innovative site-specific ideas were the leading factors in winning the submission. The project consisted of approximately 90 metres of trenching, of which 55 metres crossed through a covered storage warehouse. Diona’s key deliverable was the intention to complete the works through the warehouse without the need to remove the existing roof. Diona’s innovative ideas eliminated the need for additional construction and maintenance costs by working within the warehouse constraints.
