Keeping the Lights On
By contributing to the efficient operation and maintenance of Ausgrid‘s electricity network, Diona plays a vital role in ensuring the provision of affordable, reliable, and modern energy services.
Project Overview
The Civil Construction Services Panel supports Ausgrid in maintaining efficient network operations, thereby enabling sustainable electricity supply to over 1.7 million homes and businesses across Sydney, the Central Coast, and the Hunter regions.
Project Need
As the largest distributor of electricity on Australia’s east coast, Ausgrid boasts a network spanning 22,275 kilometres. To meet the growing demand and guarantee reliable electricity services to its 1.7 million residential and business customers, Ausgrid undertakes ongoing maintenance of its network.
Project Solution
Diona’s relationship with Ausgrid extends over 20 years, having delivered more than $200 million worth of projects in the last ten years alone. Over this time, we have built up a solid portfolio of electrical experience from laying high voltage transmission cables on the Balgowlah 132kV projects, to the recent builds of the Peakhurst and Rozelle Substations. At peak times, we managed up to 30 crews concurrently engaged in Ausgrid projects.
The scope of the Civil Construction Services Panel encompasses various works, including underground conduit and cable laying, construction of new substations and refurbishment of existing ones, upgrades for oil containment in existing infrastructure, installation of perimeter and boundary fencing, as well as replacements for substation roofs.
